It is time to start submitting nominations for the OMFF 2009. An email of the nominations form has been sent to all members and there is also a copy of the same form under "Nominations" in the festival menu on the right, accessible when you login. The Winners of the 2008 Festival were announced at the awards ceremony in Second Life last night.

A big "Thank-you" to Hathead, Michelle, ceedj, Hugh and Frank for helping to organise the event and also a big "Thank-you" to the finalists for producing such great movies for us to watch, congratulations everyone!

A reminder that the OMFF awards ceremony will be held in Second Life next Saturday 10th May. More details can be found in this forum thread. All are welcome!

There will also be a rehearsal on Thursday 8th May at 8:00 am PST/9am Mountain Time/4pm GMT. All the Finalists are encouraged to attend, if possible.

As chosen by the OMFF members, the short-lists of finalists for the 2008 festival can now be seen in the festival menu on the right. The OMFF judges will next put them in 1st, 2nd and 3rd order for each category and the results of their decisions will be published in May at the awards ceremony in Second Life. Congratulations to all those who have made it this far!

"HatHead" has very kindly made his Second Life island available again this year for the OMFF awards ceremony. The awards will be held in his theatre on May 10th at 8.30pm GMT, followed by a party in the Sky Tower Lounge afterwards. Also, like last year, there will be a pre-awards cocktail party in the Sky Tower Lounge on March 15th at 8.00pm GMT. For further details about both these events, please see this forum thread.

If for any reason you haven't received the email, or if you register after today, there is a copy of the form under "Short-Lists" in the festival menu, which you can copy into your email programme. (You will need to register and log in to see the form.) The closing date for the short-lists is 29 February.
